Whether you’re from the United States or abroad, Los Angeles is a city that is (or at least should be!) on every traveler’s bucket list. And with lush mountains, sweeping, golden beaches, world-class restaurants, Hollywood, and weather that’s virtually perfect year-round…it’s easy to see why.

Of course, planning your trip to Los Angeles can be daunting, especially if you’re eager to do a lot with only a little bit of time. Even trying deciding which areas of Los Angeles to explore can be tough, with Malibu, West Hollywood and Santa Monica each bringing something totally unique to the table.

But, never fear! We’re here to help you plan your 3-day itinerary for LA, with local tips and tricks sure to make your stay in City of Angels something truly special.

One more thing: for the sake of this guide, we’re going to assume that Hotel SVB West Hollywood CA is your base.

Let’s get started!

Day 1: Welcome to La-La Land!

After you’ve checked into your accommodation in West Hollywood, it’s time to hit the ground running. Fortunately, you’re already in one of the city’s trendiest areas, so you won’t have to venture far to see some of LA’s gems.\

First stop: Sunset Boulevard or the ‘Sunset Strip’ as its affectionately known by locals.

Spend the afternoon window shopping along Melrose Place, gawking at the massive homes of Hollywood stars in Bel-Air, grab a bite to eat at a local café, catch a show at The Comedy Store, and keep your eyes peeled for celebrities. You’re sure to spot one (or two!) around here.

Hang out in West Hollywood until the evening, where you’ll be able to hop on a free trolley service that’ll take you around all the sites you may have missed. Service starts at 7 PM and will be able to drop you off nearby Hotel SVB West Hollywood CA and other accommodation in West Hollywood.

Day 2: Head Downtown

Even though you might be tired from your first day in LA, we recommend an early start so that you can fit everything in.

Start with a hike up Griffith Park (at sunrise if you can manage it!) to see an iconic view of the city. If you’re traveling with kids, they’ll get a kick out of the observatory. Once you make your way back down and after grabbing a bite to eat (we recommend Grand Central Market) the city is well and truly your oyster.

Stroll through one of LA’s many art galleries, get your fix of fashion inspo in the Fashion District, or transport yourself to the East in Chinatown.

Day 3: Relax in Malibu

After two full days of exploring the city on foot, it’s time to kick back and relax. What better place than beautiful Malibu? Take a drive along the Pacific Coast Highway where you’ll be blown away by the scenic ocean and mountain views.

Once you arrive, hang out at Malibu Pier and take some photos, lounge on the beach, and try one of the area’s many beachfront bars and restaurants before heading back to your accommodation in West Hollywood.

After this 3-day taste of Los Angeles, you’re sure to want to book another trip soon. After all, there’s so much to see and do! Best of all, for guests of Hotel SVB West Hollywood CA, it’s right on your doorstep.
